Trip the Light Fantastic
Biography:
Michael-Angelo composes, performs and engineers his music himself. His sound is described as eclectic-pop with a rich
tone of acoustic guitars and synths… In January 2010, Michael-Angelo releases his EP "In the Light of the Moon”: the
first part of a full length album to come. This is a new project called "The Life: a Song Project" with the goal of
breaking out the album’s songs as they are produced. The first two EPs will be exclusively available online.
Michael-Angelo’s original influences come from the melody-based music of the 1990s. He began songwriting at the age
of 8 and by the age of 15 he was admitted to Vanier College in Montreal where he studied music, focusing on jazz
guitar. That’s when his influential spectrum widened to every musical style, inspiring him to write songs in a more
eclectic way. He has performed well over 100 concerts across Quebec and Ontario, collaborating with several well-
established artists including Étienne Drapeau, Jervais (Marc-André Blais) and Patrick Ménard (Yelo Molo).
In late 2007, at the age of 19, from his hometown of Rawdon, Quebec, Michael-Angelo launched his debut album "Trip
the Light Fantastic" on iTunes, in select record stores, and off stage. Music from this album is currently being
performed, played back, published and sold wolrdwide. In 2008, Michael-Angelo moved to Toronto and toured the
city’s venues totaling over thirty concerts that year including television and radio shows in Quebec and Ontario. In
2009, he focused on concerts in Quebec and on his new CD project; "The Life: a Song Project." Michael-Angelo has won
and been a finalist in many famous music competitions including the International Songwriting Competition, Pro-
Scene CKOI (2009), Première d'Eric Lapointe and Corrida.
